ReelPeople: UP Abilities, in partnership with The UP Experience, features presentations from two extraordinary experts that will open a window into the world of disabilities with intimacy and urgency.
Speaker Name: Dr. Jennifer Arnold, MD, MSc
Dr. Jennifer Arnold is currently an attending neonatologist and Program Director of Immersive Design Systems at Boston Children's Hospital. She is an experienced neonatologist, medical educator, healthcare advocate, and simulation researcher passionate about delivering high-quality patient care through innovation, technology, and effective debriefing. Dr. Arnold has a rare type of dwarfism called Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Type Strudwick, which involved more than 30 orthopedic surgeries, and she is also an 8-year cancer survivor. Dr. Arnold and her family are featured on TLC's docu-drama, The Little Couple, which follows their personal and professional lives for 14 seasons.
Speaker Name: John Bramblitt
John Bramblitt is a visually impaired artist who has designed artwork for numerous magazine covers and major film productions. John is the subject of the award-winning documentary shorts "Line of Sight” and “Bramblitt.” He has received three Presidential Service awards for his innovative multi-sensory art workshops and was named a Cultural Ambassador for the US. He currently works as a museum consultant developing programs that are designed to include all abilities. John’s book, Shouting in the Dark, is the story of his life, his journey navigating through this new territory of blindness, and how he ultimately rekindles his joy, passion, and relationships through art.
