ReelAbilities Houston Film & Arts Festival culminates with ReelMusic, a night of jazz, rock and more, where accomplished singers and songwriters who live with disabilities honor music’s universal power to lift us up. Special guest, Tony Award-winner Ali Stroker, will make a guest appearance during the show!

Sashi Nisankarao

Singer
Born and raised in Houston, vocalist Sashi Nisankarao holds her family and community very close to her heart. A 2015 graduate of the South Texas College of Law, she works at the Southwest ADA Center as an ADA specialist and is an active advocate throughout Houston.
Kyle Cousins

Singer/Songwriter
Singer/songwriter Kyle Cousins has sung at Carnegie Hall, currently channels Freddy Mercury in the Houston tribute cover band Queen Legacy, and for ReelMusic 2021 brings his effortless range to the stage via original songs from his Spotify album, “Spectrum.”

Emmanuel Gilligan is a prolific singer/songwriter and father of four who with his family band, The Sundogs, plays major venues around town. Eman is accompanied for ReelMusic 2021 by his wife Julie on vocals/percussion and son Arthur on bass.

Toni Hickman is a talented singer/songwriter and survivor of two brain aneurysms and a stroke. Her music, featured on Spotify, includes the memorable song, “Rising Phoenix,” currently featured in the ReelAbilities 2021 Netflix film of the same name. ToniHickman.com

Sax player Tito Hernandez is a composer, educator and Grammy winner with a soul-expanding ability to splendidly deliver everything from jazz and Latin jazz to eclectic covers of indie rock and experimental music.

David Craig, one of Houston’s top call bassists, has played, recorded and/or toured with Dizzy Gillespie, Arnette Cobb, James Moody & many other top artists, and writes, records and plays original music performed by local jazz artists.

Versatile drummer, teacher and Houston native Daleton J. Lee has played with jazz greats Mike Moreno, Robert Glasper and renowned jazz pianist Helen Sung. On the national stage, Daleton has performed with Spanish artist Juan Fernando Fonseca at the Latin Grammys.
