Join ReelAbilities Houston for our mental health night, featuring a film screening of HERE. IS. BETTER. and panel discussion led by Joan and Stanford Alexander Jewish Family Service's Behavioral and Mental Health Services.

HERE. IS. BETTER.

In this personal documentary, the intimate lives of veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are shared during hopeful therapy sessions. From men to women, Vietnam War to present day, stories are unlocked that dispel myths about PTSD and place focus on veterans’ journeys to a place of healing. Featuring former presidential hopeful Jason Kander.

Katelyn Bleiweiss, MPH is a 4th generation native Houstonian who is the only Sources of Strength suicide prevention program trainer for the Houston Jewish community and beyond and is also a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

Psychologist, Author

Dr. Sam J. Buser is a psychologist in Houston, Texas where he specializes in the treatment of relationship problems and in psychotherapy for men. He served as the senior staff psychologist for the nation’s 3rd largest fire department where he provided crisis assistance services.

Alvaro Guevara

Adolescent Clinical Director, Luna Recovery Services

Alvaro has been working in the field of mental health for over 15 years. At Luna Recovery, Alvaro provides therapy for adolescents and their families, facilitates group therapy sessions, identifies and implements treatment strategies for the Adolescent Program.

Director - NMT, The Neurosequential Network

Diane Vines is the Director - NMT with The Neurosequential Network, the Clinical Consultant and a ChildTrauma Fellow with The ChildTrauma Academy, and a clinician in private practice.
